At Sacred Space East Bay, our primary mission is to provide spiritual companionship to homeless men and women who seek a non-threatening way to be with others in relationship and in community.
We are un-housed and housed people called by God into Christian community and ministry for the purpose of transforming all our lives. We draw from the resources of diverse congregations, living into God’s compassion for the poor.
We give voice to the voiceless, we respect the dignity of every human being, and we see the face of Christ in ourselves and others as we gather outdoors for worship.
Our weekly outdoor worship services are for anyone who wishes to attend. Singing, praying, preaching and the Eucharist are offered, followed by opportunities for private conversation, prayer, blessing or counseling and lunch.
We offer a free bagged lunch of a sandwich, juice or water, cookie and fruit.
Sacred Space East Bay gathers rain or shine. We meet every Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in Oakland at 32nd Street & San Pablo Avenue.
Everyone is welcome!
